The site is within the high density core of the City of Kapolei which is planned as a neo-traditional “new urban” center with high density mixed use development allowing residents to walk to shopping, entertainment, places of employment and other services.
Connectivity is enhanced by the narrow streets, greenways, short blocks and emphasis on pedestrians over cars.
A new bus transit center is planned for a location within feet of Leihano.
A new light rail system is planned to terminate with in feet of Leihano.
Leihano is designed as a walkable community with an extensive walking and biking trail system that connects all residences with the community center and the adjacent park and mixed use core of the City of Kapolei.
Leihano village park sites and other pocket parks and greenbelt will provide acres of open space.
Storm water runoff will be collected and treated in underground filtration vaults and surface bio-swales before release to offsite public storm water facilities.
All lighting will be cut-off type fixtures to minimize offsite glare. |
